Direct Care Providers
Compassion in Action: Support people living with life-limiting illness—and at life’s end—with confidence, skill, and heart.
If you are caring for someone with a life-limiting illness or supporting a loved one at the end of life, we welcome you. We recognize the tender, often difficult work you do each day, and we honour the love and dedication behind it. Our hope is that these palliative care learning materials, resources, and downloadable tools help you feel supported, encouraged, and better prepared—offering confidence, competence, and compassion as you care for your loved one, and as you care for yourself.
If you have questions about hospice or palliative care, are seeking guidance, or would like to share your story, we would be glad to hear from you.

Evidence-informed resources that enrich your understanding and elevate your practice.
Caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness is an act of deep compassion, yet this tender work can also be emotionally and physically demanding.
You might find yourself dealing with:
- Emotional and physical exhaustion from balancing daily caregiver tasks with the weight of anticipated grief.
- Uncertainty about what to expect, including changes in your loved one’s condition and how to respond with confidence.
- Feeling alone or unsupported, even while carrying significant responsibility for your loved ones’ comfort and wellbeing.
- Struggling to care for yourself, as personal needs are often set aside while focusing on the needs of someone who is dying.
How Can We Help?
Our resources are designed to support you through the challenges of caregiving by offering clear, compassionate guidance grounded in evidence-informed palliative care. Whether you are looking for practical skills, reassurance about what to expect, or tools that help you respond with confidence, our resources also encourage you to care for your own wellbeing, helping you feel more supported, more prepared, and less alone as you navigate the emotional and physical demands of supporting someone at the end of life
We work to ensure every person facing end of life receives compassionate, respectful care and support
