Dear friends,
We are thrilled to announce and celebrate our esteemed colleague, Kath Murray. It is with great joy that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Kath for being honoured last month with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Palliative Care Nursing Association (CPCNA). This recognition is a testament to Kath’s unwavering dedication to improving palliative care education and improving care for any person living and dying with a life-limiting illness and for their family/loved ones.
Kath’s advocacy and collaborative efforts have helped shape standards, competencies, vocational learning outcomes, and education on provincial and national levels.
Kath has been relentless in striving to develop “delicious and digestible” education resources, helping people understand the importance of and strategies for integrating a palliative approach to care. She has authored a number of palliative care resources and been instrumental in bringing palliative care education to the forefront of healthcare education for front-line workers, especially personal support workers and nurses. Together with a team in Mexico, she adapted and translated the nursing text for use in Latin America. Kath has earned respect and admiration from colleagues, peers, and the wider palliative care community.
Kath, may this recognition serve as a reminder of the profound difference you have made and continue to make in the lives of countless individuals.
Congratulations Kath Murray! We are immensely proud to celebrate this remarkable award with you.
Warmest regards,
~ The Life and Death Matters Team
