Creating Culturally Safer Care for Indigenous Peoples: Reflections and Ideas

Presenter: Dr Sheila Blackstock

Following the launch of the FREE online course, “An Indigenous Lens to Providing Culturally Safe Care (FREE) we are honoured to have Dr Sheila Blackstock share reflections and ideas specifically for PSWs. Sheila is a member of the Gitxsan First Nation, an assistant professor at Thompson Rivers University, and has worked for over 30 years in rural and regional Indigenous nursing.  In this session she will reflect on the reasons why a culturally safe environment is essential, share stories, and share inspiration and ideas on how to help develop culturally safer communities where you work.
